A new Masters of Colorectal Surgery Lectureship making its debut at the 2010 Annual Meeting will honor 1983-84 ASCRS President Dr. Stanley M. Goldberg.  The “Masters” program kicks off an impressive series of special lectures by noted experts in the field of colon and rectal surgery. 

 

Update on Core Subjects to address critical areas of colorectal care, May 16

Evidence-based reviews that focus on current concepts and controversies of colorectal care will be presented during the 2010 Update on Core Subjects, Sunday, May 16, at the ASCRS Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.

The Colon Cancer Coalition’s Twin Cities “Get Your Rear in Gear” 5K race, scheduled in conjunction with ASCRS’ Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, expects to draw more than 5,000 people, Public Relations Committee Chair Dr. Harry Papaconstantinou, Temple, TX, reports.

 

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month helps members enhance practice value

National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, observed each year in March, affords an excellent opportunity for Society members to enhance the community’s perception of their practice’s value in colorectal cancer prevention and management.

 

Executive Council updates Society’s Strategic Plan for 2010-13

The Executive Council, working with 15 Past Presidents and key committee chairs, updated the Society’s Strategic Plan for the period 2010-13 during its February 6 Strategic Planning Retreat in Dallas, TX.
